CUSTOMIZED CONSULTATION MODULES

A sustainable future build requires careful optimizations for both structural layout and material distribution, to lower embodied carbon while ensuring the required strength, durability, constructability, and affordability. The diagram above belongs to a material optimization project for a two-story residential house in Sydney, using D.Invent's method. The work started with footings, main columns (one of which is shown above), then cover the entire load-bearing skeleton. For each structural component of the house, owners were well-informed with a clear interaction among load-bearing capacities, embodied carbon, and cost estimate of all suitable options. Better decisions can be made based on this work. The project was carried out by our engineers, started and completed in 2022. Copyright © D.Invent Pty Ltd.

Most carbon emission over the entire life of a building comes from its normal operation's energy consumption (e.g., air conditioning). Optimizing insulation capacity, therefore, is one of the key steps to take to lower carbon emission. The diagram above belongs to an insulation optimization project carried out by our engineers, started and completed in 2018. A long-standing structure requires a careful foundation analysis, soft-soil treatment, settlement prediction, footing strength-stability checks, and/or pile system design. The bridge profile above is one of more than 20 infrastructure projects, of which our engineers were in charge of foundation assessment and design. Bridge details: Bung Bridge connecting Binh Tan and Tan Phu Districts, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Concept design started in 2008, construction started in 2017, finished in 2022.

REAL-LIFE APPLICATIONS

D.Invent's innovations, once carefully tested to verify their advantages, will be integrated into a practical use of residential and/or infrastructure.
Small-scale prototypes: Residential houses, roads, bridges, and other practical structures are built at a quarter or a half of their actual sizes in service, each of which is integrated with one or a combination of D.Invent's innovations. These prototypes are then put through further testing and observation. Improvements will be made, and the successful ones will be used as a base design for a full-scale construction.

Full-scale sample construction: At this stage, a detailed design and construction of a practical structure, advanced from a successful prototype, is produced. Each of them will be tested in a final round, considering structural performance and serviceability.
Successful structures in a full-scale pilot build are then used for exhibition and demonstration purposes.
Interested parties from the community are welcome and encouraged to engage in the production, supervision, and trial of our pilot builds. Public feedback will be collected, reviewed, and used for future improvements.
